What You'll Do

Learn by Doing
Start on the Worksite
Start by helping skilled technicians on active data center construction sites.
You might be pulling cables, prepping tools, or observing installs.
This is your time to learn how a data center comes to life — from the ground up.
⚠️ Note: For many times during the project you’ll be working outdoors in environments with no climate control — which means dealing with the full heat of the Arizona summer. Be prepared for high temperatures and sun exposure.
🟢 Pro: Learn real-world skills on the job.
🔴 Con: It can be physically demanding, repetitive, and very hot — especially in the summer months.

Install and Organize Network Cabling
Work with Your Hands and Your Head
You'll learn to install and route low-voltage cabling (Cat6, fiber, etc.) — the nervous system of the data center.
You’ll label lines, plug into patch panels, and follow site plans to build out clean, efficient cable systems.
🟢 Pro: Become a key part of the tech powering the future.
🔴 Consideration: Some tasks may require distinguishing between cable colors. Individuals with color vision deficiencies are encouraged to discuss potential accommodations or alternate responsibilities that align with their strengths.

Grow into a Skilled Technician
Advance Your Career
With time, you’ll move from support tasks to independent installs and system testing.
Experienced techs lead small teams, troubleshoot networks, and move into supervisory roles or specialized paths like fiber, security systems, or HVAC integration.
🟢 Pro: Clear pathway to $30/hr+ and leadership opportunities.
🔴 Con: Advancement takes time and consistent performance. Promotions aren't automatic — you'll need to demonstrate reliability, technical skill, and leadership potential.
